By the time I was born in 1991, he had grown his business from a single man operation into a respected local area business in Sacramento. Some of my earliest memories of my father are of him on a roof and, not long after, me next to him working to support our family. He worked ceaselessly toward a future for our family that would rise above roof level, always stressing the importance of hard work and getting a college degree. His work paid off - I did get that degree - and, meanwhile, developed a fond respect for the business that made it possible.
